Early Advertisements & History

This is a collection point for things I have found significant that will be brought together for the History Section of this report. It is just beginning now that the publication section is pretty well completed...except for those pesky.

Lyman-Ideal Plant

This image shows the Lyman Gun Sight Corporation Plant. It provides context to the manufacturing environment of the Model No. 55.

Model No. 55 Advertisement (Mar 1948)

This is the second advertisement for Model No. 55 in American Rifleman, March 1948. This is a Lyman advertisement and shows the Model No. 55 taking its place in the reloading tool line-up. The identical Lindahl Gun Company advertisement also ran again in this issue.

SAECO TruSpeed Measure (Feb 1948)

This is the first advertisement for Model No. 55 in American Rifleman, February 1948. Assuming typical publishing practices, this was a reality in late 1947. Note also that this was not a Lyman advertisement but a reseller, and it featured the Ideal Tru-Line Jr.

Same American Riflemen Issue, SAECO TruSpeed Measure, the primary competition for the Model No 55 in the immediate post war era. Note the price differences. More on that later.

SAECO TruSpeed Measure (Mar 1948)

Riflemen Issue, SAECO TruSpeed Measure advertisement, the primary competition for the Model No 55 in the immediate post-war era. Note this is a factory advertisement this issue.
